Passenger Safety Requirements
Hazardous Items
For safety reasons and in accordance with the regulations of all countries, certain items are prohibited from being carried in either hand or checked luggage. These prohibited items include:
- Briefcases or luggage with built-in alarm systems
- Explosive materials like fireworks or signal flares
- Gas containers, such as pepper spray or camping gas cartridges
- Containers with flammable liquids, such as lighter fuel, paint, or solvents
- Highly flammable items, such as matches
- Substances that release flammable gases when in contact with water
- Oxidizing agents, like bleach or peroxide
- Toxic or infectious substances, such as mercury or samples of viruses and bacteria
- Radioactive materials and equipment
- Corrosive substances, such as acids, bases, or wet-cell batteries
- Strongly magnetic materials
- Equipment and tools exposed to gasoline, even if they contain only minimal traces of it
