Travel Recommendations for Special Medical Needs

Pregnant Passengers

Pregnant travelers may fly with KosovaTicket up until the 29th week of pregnancy, provided there are no complications, and may proceed directly to the check-in counter without a doctor’s note. After the 29th week, special medical clearance is required, particularly in cases of high-risk pregnancies, such as multiple births.

Medication

Medication at customs: If you carry medications or injections, like insulin syringes, in your hand luggage, it is advisable to include a medical note that verifies their necessity for personal medical use.

In case of lost medication: Request that your doctor provides a list of essential health information, such as your blood type and details of prescribed medications (including generic names). These details will be helpful should your medication be misplaced. Additionally, bring all relevant documentation that would assist in treatment or prescriptions abroad. For further guidance, consult your doctor or health insurer.

Medication in carry-on luggage: Pack medications securely to avoid damage and, if possible, distribute them among different carry-on bags. It is recommended to bring 1.5 to 2 times the required amount in case of unexpected flight delays or diversions that could result in extended waiting times, even after boarding.
